Ash Wednesday approaches for Christians. In 2009, Ash Wednesday falls later in the year than usual, on February 25 (my dad's birthday- Happy Birthday, Dad!) Easter falls on April 12. Here's a great craft to bring us into spiritual focus for Ash Wednesday and the lenten season. Make a cross candle holder to commemorate the seven weeks of lent. It's like an advent wreath for lent! Use the trunk from your Christmas to connect Christmas and Easter. Children will process the tie-in between Easter and Christmas much better with this craft.
